Saunders Farm hosts 5th annual “Scaring is Caring Event” in support of youth mental health

Media Release October 2, 2015

Fifth annual event to raise awareness and funds for YSB’s Youth Mental Health Walk-in Clinic Ottawa—For so many kids growing up in and around Ottawa, Saunders Farm is a special place—a place that fosters some of our fondest memories. For Jamie Hubley, this was especially true. It was a place where he could be himself and feel acceptance. It is fitting, then, that Saunders Farm is once again honouring Jamie’s memory by raising awareness and funds for a program aimed at helping young struggling with mental health issues. Join us on October 2nd, 2015 for the fifth annual Saunders Farm “Scaring is Caring Event” in support of the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa’s (YSB) Youth Mental Health Walk-in Clinic. The clinic is designed to help young people struggling with mental health and their families when they need it the most. No wait lists. No delay in care. “With so many young people in the Ottawa region struggling with their mental health, we are grateful to Saunders Farm for their commitment to making a difference,” said Allan and Wendy Hubley. “Donating these proceeds to YSB’s life-changing mental health programs will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of youth. It means more to us than we can begin to express in words.” Saunders Farm will be donating $5 from every “Scaring is Caring” admission directly to YSB. “We want to honour Jamie’s memory and do our part to make sure there are services available for young people like him in the Ottawa region,” said Mark and Angela Saunders of Saunders Farm. “We can think of no better way than to help raise awareness and funds for the YSB Mental Health Walk-in Clinic.” What: 5th Annual Saunders Farm Scaring is Caring Event When: October 2nd 2015, 6p.m.-10p.m. Where: Saunders Farm, 7893 Bleeks Rd.
