Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa Affirms Commitment to Inclusivity at Capital Pride Parade
At the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB), our unwavering commitment to the safety, respect, and well-being of our entire community stands at the heart of our mission. As Pride celebrations approach, we embrace this opportunity to reaffirm our steadfast allyship and support for the queer and trans community.
This year, guided by our youth-led approach, we actively engaged with our youth leaders to determine the most impactful way to participate in the Capital Pride parade. Their message was clear: YSB has a crucial responsibility to represent, support, and advocate for queer and trans youth in Ottawa, just as we always have.
In alignment with this guidance, YSB is proud to announce our participation in the Capital Pride parade, where we will march along side our youth and the broader community to celebrate diversity, embrace the LGBTQ2S+ community, and honor love in all its forms. Our presence at the parade is a testament to our commitment to affirm that everyone belongs, free from fear and full of hope. “Together with the community, we will continue to champion inclusivity, foster acceptance, and advocate for a future where every individual is celebrated for who they are,” said Michel Guilbeault, YSB CEO (interim). “While we acknowledge and respect the diverse opinions and debates that arise, our focus remains on celebrating the vibrancy and resilience of the LGBTQ2S+ community,” said Tany Gracie, YSB Board Chair.
