Partner Spotlight: Kristen and Brandon’s Commitment to Ottawa’s Youth

Through YSB’s Partner Spotlight Series, we’re proud to recognize individuals and organizations whose generosity, leadership and community spirit help create brighter futures for young people across Ottawa.

For Kristen and Brandon, supporting the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB) is deeply personal.

Brandon’s commitment to giving back began more than 14 years ago, inspired by the loss of his brother at a young age. Reflecting on the opportunities his brother never had motivated Brandon to help young people facing difficult circumstances access the care, guidance and opportunities they deserve.

YSB’s work in mental health, shelters and housing, employment services and youth justice strongly resonates with him.

“Walking through the shelter, meeting young people and seeing the impact in real time has been a meaningful way to honour my brother and my family,” Brandon shares.

People genuinely want to help. Sometimes they just need a meaningful way to begin.

As a member of the YSB Foundation Board, Kristen is equally passionate about creating change early. Through her work in the education system, she understands how important it is for youth and families to find support when they need it most.

“If we want to shift the trends affecting young people, we need to be proactive and offer services when youth are in a position to access them,” Kristen says.

Together, Kristen and Brandon bring this commitment to life through Sip & Sound, an event that welcomes supporters from across the country. More than a fundraiser, it helps people discover how they can give back and become part of the solution.

We are grateful to Kristen and Brandon for their partnership, leadership and belief in the potential of every young person. Their support is a powerful reminder that when our community comes together, we can build a stronger future for Ottawa’s youth.
