Strong Roots: YSB’s bold vision for 2026-2031
At the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB), our story has always been one of purpose and persistence, and we’re excited to share the next chapter.
We’re proud to introduce Strong Roots, YSB’s new five-year strategic plan for 2026-2031. This plan is the result of deep, wide-ranging listening, from youth and families, to staff, community partners, and other interest holders.
Why Strong Roots? Because our strength has always come from the ground up: from meaningful community connections, dedicated people, and a shared belief in the potential of every young person. Like the roots of a thriving tree, this foundation grounds us through change, nourishes growth, and keeps us steady as we reach toward the future.
Strong Roots is organized around five strategic directions:

- Thrive – Build a healthy, resilient organization
- Amplify – Lead boldly in advocacy and systems change
- Connect – Strengthen and innovate across our continuum of services
- Impact – Cultivate a culture of learning, evaluation, and innovation
