Anne Lawson

    Anne Lawson retired in February 2024 as one of three Deputy Chief Electoral Officers at Elections Canada, responsible for Regulatory Affairs.  In this senior executive role, she oversaw programs relating the federal political financing regime, federal electoral integrity and regulatory policy-making, Parliamentary relations and the provision of legal services in the agency.  Anne is a lawyer by training, and was called to the bar in 1995 after a clerkship at the Supreme Court of Canada. Prior to joining Elections Canada in 2013, Anne worked for over 15 years in Canada`s federal Department of Justice, providing legal advice in a number of areas including constitutional law, human rights law and legal risk management.

    In 2017, Anne obtained a Masters in Philanthropy and Non-Profit Leadership from Carleton University.  She was previously a board member of the Rideau-Rockcliffee Community Resource Centre.
