Join the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB) for an evening of expression: The Art of Listening…So your teen will talk.

During a time when information has never been easier to share, why are we still struggling to communicate with our kids? The teen years can be a challenging time for families, parents and teens. Are you struggling to understand your teen? Wondering how to get your teen to open up?

This evening will be empowering, informative and essential to all those who live or work with youth.

The information portion of the evening will share the perspectives of a parent, counsellor and young person, and focus on:

•    How to get your teen to talk
•    Tools for open communication
•    How to create safe spaces
•    Ways to navigate difficult discussions
•    Where to find help – as a parent and a teen

Mind Matters, formally known as Moms for Mental Health, provides practical information and guidance to parents, family members and the community and highlights the youth mental health services and other programs offered by YSB. Participating in this event is a great opportunity to learn powerful communication skills and to support YSB and our youth
