Jamie Hubley Scholarship for Mental Health

Applications for the Jamie Hubley Scholarship for Mental Health are now being accepted! Jamie Hubley was a shooting star. An adored son and brother. Fierce friend. Saucy singing sensation. Forceful figure skater. And he was courageous beyond words. But he also struggled with depression and loneliness -- and from the bullying that came with being the only openly gay teen in his Ottawa-area high school. Established in loving tribute of Jamie Hubley, two annual scholarships with a focus on mental health will be awarded to residents of Ottawa.

  1. The first scholarship was established to help foster excellence in mental health care by increasing the human resource pool of skilled professionals.  A $2,000.00 scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to an individual to train/study at a post-secondary level in the field of Mental Health. Download the application.

  2. Recognizing the immense value offered by individuals with an experience of mental illness, the aim of the second Jamie Hubley Memorial Scholarship is to increase the educational opportunities for mental health consumers.  This annual $2,000.00 scholarship will be used to support an individual with experience of mental illness/mental health disorder as they pursue a post-secondary education. Download the application.
For eligibility criteria, please download the Jamie Hubley Scholarship for Mental Health Information Package. Applications are due March 31st, 2017.

YSB's SleepOUT for Youth

This year in Ottawa alone, more than 1,000 young people will spend the coldest, darkest, and harshest months of the year with no place to call home. On December 1st 2016, more than 700 community leaders spent the night at TD Place Stadium, for YSB's SleepOUT for Youth. Together we raised $206,000 from this incredible event, to support life-changing programs and services for homeless youth. Learn more at
